Lately I’ve been trying to create slower evenings throughout the week instead of waiting until the weekend to finally relax.
One thing that’s been helping me so much lately is turning Wednesday nights into a little midweek reset at home.
I usually start by running a warm nervous system bath while I spend a few minutes dry brushing beforehand. Dry brushing helps support circulation and lymphatic flow, but it’s also become one of my favorite ways to physically slow down before getting into the bath. It also helps your skin better absorb things like Epsom salt during the bath and body butters afterward.
Once the bath is ready, I turn off the lights and usually use candlelight or red light for a full nervous system bath. I’ll put on calming frequency music, usually 432 Hz or 528 Hz frequencies, and spend some time reading while I soak.
Before I’m ready to get out, I spend a few quiet minutes laying almost fully submerged in the water with only my nose and mouth above the surface while practicing deep belly breathing. I focus on slow 6 second inhales with longer 12 second exhales. Longer exhales help signal safety to the body and help bring the nervous system into a calmer state.
Then I transition into my everything shower while still sitting in the bathtub. I’ll do my shaving, exfoliate my face and body with our Invigorate Coffee + Raw Honey Scrub, and really let myself slow down instead of rushing through the routine.
Once I’m out of the bath, I make myself a mineral-rich tea with a little honey and a pinch of salt for natural electrolytes and enjoy it while laying in bed with my feet up on the wall as I finish reading for the night.
Before bed, I finish my routine with a gentle facial massage using our Rejuvenate Face Oil to help release jaw tension and reduce facial puffiness. Then I massage our Calm Vibes Magnesium + Arnica Body Butter onto my calves, the soles of my feet, and underarms a few minutes before falling asleep.
It’s become one of my favorite ways to reset midweek and create small moments of calm before stress and overstimulation start building up.
