My Go-To Smoothie to Avoid the 3pm Crash

My Go-To Smoothie to Avoid the 3pm Crash

Lately I’ve been spending a lot more time outside, going on evening walks, and soaking up the warmer weather while we finally have it.

But if I’m being honest… all that extra time outside can leave me feeling completely drained by the end of the day.

Between the heat, sweating more, being active longer, and trying to keep up with everything this time of year, I’ve really been focusing on simple ways to support my energy naturally without constantly reaching for more caffeine.

This smoothie has easily become one of my favorites lately because it’s refreshing, packed with protein, and helps keep me feeling full and energized for hours.

What I love most about it is that it’s simple, uses real ingredients, and takes less than 5 minutes to make.

Tropical Boost Energy Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 apple
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • splash of milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 2–3 eggs or your favorite protein powder

Add everything into a blender and blend until smooth.

If you prefer it colder, you can also add ice or freeze your pineapple ahead of time.

Why I’ve Been Loving This Smoothie

Protein Support

Adding eggs or protein powder helps make this smoothie much more balanced and satisfying compared to smoothies that leave you hungry an hour later. I personally love using eggs because they blend in smoothly and add extra nutrients without changing the flavor much.

Hydration Support

Celery and pineapple are both naturally high in water content, which can feel especially supportive during warmer weather when we tend to sweat more and lose more minerals.

Fiber + Healthy Fats

The chia seeds help add fiber and healthy fats to support blood sugar balance and help keep energy levels more stable throughout the day.

Gut-Friendly Protein

Greek yogurt adds protein while also giving the smoothie a creamy texture. It’s one of my favorite ways to help keep smoothies more filling and balanced.

Natural Energy Support

The apple and pineapple help give this smoothie a natural source of energy, while the protein and healthy fats help keep me full longer instead of crashing an hour later.

It has honestly been a lifesaver on those hot days when I need something quick, nourishing, and refreshing when I’m short on time.

This time of year always feels busier with longer days, warmer weather, and spending more time outside and I’ve really been trying to focus on simple foods that help me feel good, stay energized, and support my body naturally.
